Install FFmpeg on Centos/RHEL 5/6/7

  • Step 1: Install FFmpeg
    Before installing make sure that you have enabled atrpms repository in system. Now we install FFmpeg packages on our server.

    yum install ffmpeg ffmpeg-devel

    Step 2: Check FFmpeg packages
    Check FFmpeg packages using following command:

    rpm -qa | grep ffmpeg
    
    ffmpeg-devel-2.2.1-65.el6.x86_64
    ffmpeg-2.2.1-65.el6.x86_64
    

    Step 3: Check FFmpeg version
    Check version using following command:

    # ffmpeg -v
    
    ffmpeg version 2.2.1 Copyright (c) 2000-2014 the FFmpeg developers
    

    After installing FFmpeg packages now we can Convert any video using FFMPEG
